reproductive system
N
• males and females are fertile although complete reproductive histories are not reported
• decrease in the total number of leptotene cells and concomitant increase in the number of zygonema/pachynema intermediate cells
• decreased by 22% compared to controls
• sperm samples collected from cauda epididymides
• disruption of sex body formation and mislocalization of sex body components including the synaptonemal complex
• premature entry into meiosis
• fail to correctly silence X and Y chromosomes during meiosis
• localization of SYCP1 indicates a defect in synaptonemal complex formation and or integrity within the sex body
• increased apoptosis within the prophase I layers of the seminiferous epithelium
• decreased by 13% compared to controls
