• about 60% of mice survive a high dose (250 PFU) infection with encephalomyocarditis virus (EMCV) that is lethal in 100% of wild-type mice by 7 days post infection
• all mice survive a lower dose (50 PFU) infection with EMCV that causes 50% lethality in wild-type mice by 10 days post infection

• increase in the efficacy of poly(I:C) to induce type 1 interferon and CXCL10 in MEFs
