Trabecular and cortical bone abnormalities in homozygous Tg(Col1a1-FGF2*,-Sapphire)305Mmh and Tg(Col1a1-FGF2*,-Sapphire)308Mmh mice

growth/size/body
• 4.5 month old male homozygotes exhibit increased body weight as compared to control transgenic

limbs/digits/tail
• circumferential thickness from femoral cortical bone is increased by 7% as compared to control transgenic
• segmented femoral cortical bone area is increased by 17% as compared to control transgenic

skeleton
• increased number and area of mineralized nodules in bone marrow stromal cell cultures
• tibial BMC is increased by 29% as compared to control transgenic
• femoral BMC is increased by 22% as compared to control transgenic
• tibial BMD is increased by 16% as compared to control transgenic
