• pulmonary endothelial cell proliferation and survival are normal

• at E12.5, 4 of 11 mice exhibit abnormal connections of the pulmonary vein to the coronary sinus unlike wild-type mice
• at E17.5, 3 of 8 mice exhibit abnormal connections of the pulmonary vein to the coronary sinus unlike wild-type mice
• the midpharyngeal endothelial strands does not form at the proper location on the dorsal surface of the embryonic common atrium
• abnormal patterning with partial or full penetrance of the pulmonary vein connecting to the coronary sinus (right atrium) or directly to the right atrium
• however, vascular patterning at E9.5 is normal
