Increase in body size of Sidt2tm1.1Hzha/Sidt2tm1.1Hzha adult mice

cellular
• some ERs show degradation of the tube net structure, with scattered plum blossom-like ribosome particles and swelling of the smooth ER in some areas
• mice show hepatic endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, with liver showing damage to the ER, the rough ER showing swelling of the cavity, beaded changes in some lumen, balloon-shaped swelling, different degrees of reduction in the number of ribosomes attached to the outer surface, and irregular cavity configuration

homeostasis/metabolism
N
• mice exhibit normal insulin sensitivity
• decreased insulin granule release in male mice
• in random fed and fasted male mice at 6 months
• in both oral and intraperitoneal glucose tolerance tests of male mice at 6 months
• in male mice during glucose tolerance test at 4 and 8 weeks
• increase in serum levels of triglyceride from 3 months of age
• in male mice at 4 and 8 weeks
• increase in free fatty acids from 3 months of age which increases further at 6 months

growth/size/body
• in male mice after 5 weeks
• however, female mice exhibit normal appearance
• in male mice after 5 weeks
• however, female mice exhibit normal weight

immune system
• mice exhibit a large number of inflammatory cells at the hepatic lobule and portal area
• mice exhibit a large number of macrophages in the hepatic blood sinus area and chemotaxis of macrophages towards the endothelium

endocrine/exocrine glands
• more insulin secretory granules due to decreased granule release in male mice
• decreased insulin granule release in male mice

liver/biliary system
• mice exhibit a large number of inflammatory cells at the hepatic lobule and portal area
• mice exhibit a large number of macrophages in the hepatic blood sinus area and chemotaxis of macrophages towards the endothelium
• lobular structure of the liver is disordered
• increase in free fatty acids from 3 months of age which increases further at 6 months
• nonuniform size and morphology of liver cells
• ballooning degeneration of some liver cells
• swelling of some liver cells, with large vacuolar lipid droplets in the cytoplasm
• hepatic cell necrosis, seen as nuclear pyknosis and chromatin margination
• mice develop severe hepatic steatosis, with a yellower and greasier liver at 6 months of age
• almost all liver cells show steatosis
• mice exhibit a large number of inflammatory cells at the hepatic lobule and portal area, with part of the region replaced by fibrosis connective tissue
