Semg1tm1Kemi mutation (1 available); any Semg1 mutation (30 available)
phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype

Seminal vesicle appearance and absence of copulatory plugs in Semg1tm1Kemi/Semg1tm1Kemi and Semg1tm2Kemi/Semg1tm2Kemi mice

reproductive system
N
• the seminal vesicle epithelium morphology appears similar to controls
• fertilization in an in vitro fertilization assay rates of fertilized eggs are comparable to controls
• strongly reduced fertility with homozygous males siring an average litter size of 0.63 +/- 0.13 pups compared to 5.23 +/- 0.53 and 4.96 +/- 0.42 pups for wild-type and heterozygous mice, respectively
• intrauterine death of sperm

behavior/neurological
• copulatory plugs are not formed in female mice mated with homozygous males
• however, mating behavior is normal, sperm are normally produced and rates of motile and hyperactivated sperm are indistinguishable from controls

Membrane disruption of intrauterine sperm in Semg1tm1Kemi/Semg1tm1Kemi Tg(CAG-RFP,Acr-EGFP)RBGS002Osb/0 or Semg1tm2Kemi/Semg1tm2Kemi Tg(CAG-RFP,Acr-EGFP)RBGS002Osb/0

reproductive system
• intrauterine death of sperm
• sperm are rarely seen in the isthmus of the oviduct and are unable to move into the ampulla
• ejaculated sperm have already undergone the acrosomal reaction inside the uterus

cellular
• sperm are rarely seen in the isthmus of the oviduct and are unable to move into the ampulla
