cellular
• reduction of migration of dermal dendritic cells (both DEC-205-high and DEC-205-low) into the auricular lymph nodes in response to FITC, acetone, and dibutylphthalate
• however, mutants show a similar number of Langerhans cells in the ear epidermis, indicating no defect in dendritic cell colonization at the skin
• culturing epidermal and dermal sheets from the ear from mutants results in the formation of dermal cords similarly to wild-type mice

hematopoietic system
• reduction of migration of dermal dendritic cells (both DEC-205-high and DEC-205-low) into the auricular lymph nodes in response to FITC, acetone, and dibutylphthalate
• however, mutants show a similar number of Langerhans cells in the ear epidermis, indicating no defect in dendritic cell colonization at the skin
• culturing epidermal and dermal sheets from the ear from mutants results in the formation of dermal cords similarly to wild-type mice
• relative number of eosinophils is higher
• total number of white blood cells is slightly lower
• Langerhans cells show an overall reduction in maturation markers and MHC II
• decrease in lung tissue eosinophils in house dust mite-sensitized/challenged mutants

immune system
• reduction of migration of dermal dendritic cells (both DEC-205-high and DEC-205-low) into the auricular lymph nodes in response to FITC, acetone, and dibutylphthalate

• total number of white blood cells is slightly lower
• Langerhans cells show an overall reduction in maturation markers and MHC II
• decrease in lung tissue eosinophils in house dust mite-sensitized/challenged mutants
• house dust mite-induced allergic inflammation is reduced, with house dust mite-sensitized/challenged mutants showing a reduced proportion of conventional dendritic cells in the lungs, attenuated Th2-type cytokine (IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13) expression, decreased lung tissue eosinophils, and decreased numbers of mucus-secreting airway epithelial cells

respiratory system
• decrease in the numbers of mucus-secreting airway epithelial cells in house dust mite-sensitized/challenged mutants
