• mice are viable and exhibit normal growth rates and normal kidney histology, with no apparent gross abnormalities
• no differences in vasopressin- or angiotensin II-stimulated cAMP generation in the inner medulla relative to controls
• normal water intake, urine flow, urine osmolality, and urinary osmolyte excretion during normal, moderate, and severe water restriction relative to controls
• no differences in systolic BP, diastolic BP, or heart rate on any of the days during normal-, high- or low-Na feeding relative to controls
• normal sodium intake and urinary Na excretion during normal-, high-, or low-Na diet relative to controls
• normal plasma AVP during normal or low-water diet relative to controls
• normal plasma renin concentration during normal or low-salt diet relative to controls
