behavior/neurological
• longer time to reach the platform in a Morris water maze although other parameters of performance are normal
• in probe tests, less time is spent in the quadrant where the platform had been than is true for controls
• open field exploratory behavior is greater than controls at day 1
• although exploratory behavior declines by day 3, it remains greater than in controls
• poorer improvement of swim time in a forced swim test than observed in other genotypes than is seen for other genotypes
• spend considerably less time on the open arms of an elevated maze than do controls
• show considerable less locomotor activity than controls when housed alone for 3 days
• difference from controls disappears after being housed alone for one month
• transient hyperlocomotion induced by methylphenidate (MPH)
