normal phenotype
• homozygotes are viable and grossly normal with no alterations in hematologic parameters, platelet count and lifespan, tail bleeding times (hemostasis), and arterial thrombus formation after mechanical or FeCl3-induced injury
• in vitro, platelets show normal activation and aggregation responses to major platelet agonists; integrin-mediated clot retraction and spreading of activated platelets on fibrinogen is normal
• ex vivo, platelets show normal adhesion and aggregate formation on collagen-coated surfaces under shear flow conditions
