mortality/aging
• embryonic lethality between E11.5 and E12.5

embryo
• a trend towards significant increase in apoptosis and cell death in E11.5 limb buds
• condensation of mesenchymal cells does not occur in limb buds up to E12.5 indicating delayed chondrogenic mesenchymal condensation in the limb buds
• however, proper patterning of digit formation in limb buds occurs at E11.5 and E12.5

hematopoietic system
• decrease in number of erythrocytes and their progenitor cells in peripheral blood

limbs/digits/tail
• a trend towards significant increase in apoptosis and cell death in E11.5 limb buds
• condensation of mesenchymal cells does not occur in limb buds up to E12.5 indicating delayed chondrogenic mesenchymal condensation in the limb buds
• however, proper patterning of digit formation in limb buds occurs at E11.5 and E12.5

skeleton
• in ex vivo chondrogenic differentiation assay, E11.5 mesenchymal cells generated fewer cartilaginous nodules than wild-type cells after 7 days in culture
