• slowed healing that never achieves comparable healing as in wild-type mice after fracture with reduced trabecular bone volume to trabecular volume, diminished trabeculae number and trabecular thickness, and a large amount of callus cartilage
• drilled holes are only partially filled after 2 weeks compared to complete bridging in control mice with reduced bone mineral density and bone volume to trabecular volume
