• 4.5-8% of sperm show irregular flagella caliber
• 8-13.5% of sperm show absent flagella
• 30.5-34.5% of sperm have coiled flagella
• 4-8.5% of sperm show sperm angulation
• 36-52.5% of sperm show short flagella
• sperm count is decreased
• severe defects in sperm motility
• cauda epididymides show shedding of residual bodies, abnormal cells, and disorganized spermatozoa with flagellar malformations
• however, spermatogonia and spermatocytes in seminiferous tubules have normal morphology
