Gemin6em1(IMPC)Bay/Gemin6em1(IMPC)Bay mice exhibit embryonic lethality, with embryos recovered at E3.5 as early blastocysts but not at E7.5. Blastocysts hatch from the zona pellucida and form outgrowths in culture.

• homozygous embryos are present in expected Mendelian ratios at E3.5 and appear as early blastocysts; no homozygous embryos are recovered at E7.5 but excess resorption sites suggest that embryos elicit a decidual response in vivo
• in vitro, blastocysts hatch from the zona pellucida and form outgrowths after 3 days in culture
