• mice exhibit normal development of immune cells with no differences in the percentages of CD19+ B cells, CD4+ T cells, CD8+ T cells, NK cells, dendritic cells or macrophages detected in splenocytes relative to wild-type controls
• bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs) show higher mRNA expression levels of IFN-stimulated genes Ifit1 and Mx1 than wild-type BMDMs
• however, mRNA expression of both Ifna4 and Ifnb1 is normal
• following infection with vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) , BMDMs show a significantly lower abundance of both VSV RNA and VSV-glycoprotein (VSV-G) protein relative to wild-type BMDMs; reduced levels of VSV-G are also seen in VSV-infected bone marrow-derived dendritic cells and mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs)
• following challenge with VSV via tail i.v. injection, mice show significantly lower VSV replication and VSV titers in liver, spleen and lung than wild-type controls
• after lethal VSV infection, mice show significantly lower infiltration of inflammatory cells in the lung than wild-type controls
• after lethal VSV infection, mice show significantly longer survival time than wild-type controls

hematopoietic system
