• ipsilateral ankles at 3 and 7 dpi with CHIKV show reduced level of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, including IL-1beta, IL-6, IL-12, IFN-gamma, TNF-alpha, G-CSF, GM-CSF, MIP-1alpha, MIP-1Beta, RANTES, and CXCL1
• uninfected mice show small reductions in some cell types like neutrophils, macrophages, and dendritic cells, in joints
• mice inoculated with CHIKV-AF15561 show a 2-fold and 5-fold decrease in neutrophils and a 3-fold and 2-fold increase in dendritic cells in joints at 3 and 7 dpi, respectively
• mice inoculated with Chikungunya virus (CHIKV, Asian strain AF15561 or East/Central/South African strain LR 2006) subcutaneously in the feet show reduced levels of CHIKV infection compared to wild-type mice, with decreased viral titers and foot swelling, fewer infiltrating neutrophils and cytokines in the joint
• mice inoculated with CHIKV-AF15561 show reduced foot swelling during the first 2 peaks of swelling at 2-3 days post infection (dpi) and 6-8 dpi, respectively
• mice inoculated with CHIKV-AF15561 intravenously show reduced viral titers in both the ankles and calf muscles, with a greater reduction in the calf muscles than at the site of infection
• MEFs show reduced CHIKV infection
• mice inoculated with Mayaro virus show reduced foot swelling and decreased viral titers in the ipsilateral calf muscle, draining lymph nodes, contralateral ankle, and contralateral calf muscle, but not in the ipsilateral ankle
• mice inoculated with Ross River virus show reduced viral titers in the ipsilateral ankle, ipsilateral calf muscle, contralateral ankle, and contralateral calf muscle
• mice inoculated with Onyongnyong virus show reduced viral titers in the ipsilateral ankle
