• mice exhibit normal distortion product otoacoustic emission, endocochlear potential, cochlear microphonics, summating potentials, and innervation of the cochlea
|
• frequent tapering of the tallest stereocilia in the apical turn
|
• at 2 weeks, mice exhibit a slight increase in ABR threshold and abnormal ABR waveforms with smaller amplitudes compared to in wild-type mice
• at 3 weeks of age, mice exhibit smaller click-evoked response compared with wild-type mice
• progressive increase in threshold from 4 weeks of age onward with smaller click-evoked averaged waveforms compared with wild-type mice
• mice exhibit reduced ABR wave 1 amplitude and longer latency compared with wild-type mice
• however, tone-evoked ABR is normal at 3 weeks of age
|
• increased latencies
