reproductive system
• at 8 weeks of age, fewer numbers of corpora lutea are present in spontaneously cycling ovaries
• 48 hours after hCG treatment, superovulated ovaries from 4-week-old females contain fewer numbers of corpora lutea than similarly treated wild-type ovaries
• at 8 weeks of age, fewer numbers of antral follicles are present in spontaneously cycling ovaries
• 48 hours after PMSG injection, superovulated ovaries from 4-week-old females contain fewer numbers of antral follicles and atretic follicles than similarly treated wild-type ovaries
• however, the number of atretic follicles is normal at 8 weeks of age
• at 8 weeks of age, ovaries show a marked reduction in follicular development and maturation
• after treatment with exogenous gonadotropins, females produce fewer oocytes and show a significant decrease in the number of antral follicles and in corpora lutea formation
• at 8 weeks of age, average ovarian weight is significantly lower than that in wild-type controls
• however, body weight and adrenal gland weight are normal
• at 8 weeks of age, endometrial thickness is significantly decreased, suggesting a reduced uterine response
• 14 hours after hCG injection, uteri from 4-week-old females show significantly thinner endometria than similarly treated wild-type uteri
• uteri from sexually mature females appear less hypertrophic than wild-type uteri
• 14 hours after hCG injection, uteri from 4-week-old females show a significantly lower weight than similarly treated wild-type uteri
• after induction of superovulation by PMSG and hCG treatment, 4-week-old females produce significantly fewer oocytes than superovulated wild-type females
• at 8 weeks of age, uteri from sexually mature females appear to be hyporeactive to gonadotropins
• uteri from 4-week-old females show a reduced response to superovulation induced by exogenous PMSG and hCG
• 8- to 10-week-old virgin female mice exhibit a markedly lower pregnancy rate than wild-type controls (65% vs 96%)
• female mice produce a smaller litter size than wild-type controls (6.7 +/- 1.7 pups per litter vs 8.0 +/- 1.3 pups per litter)

endocrine/exocrine glands
• at 8 weeks of age, fewer numbers of corpora lutea are present in spontaneously cycling ovaries
• 48 hours after hCG treatment, superovulated ovaries from 4-week-old females contain fewer numbers of corpora lutea than similarly treated wild-type ovaries
• at 8 weeks of age, fewer numbers of antral follicles are present in spontaneously cycling ovaries

behavior/neurological
• stimulatory effects of acute cocaine administration on locomotor activity and dopamine levels in the nucleus accumbens are reduced compared to wild-type mice

homeostasis/metabolism
• basal extracellular dopamine levels are increased in the nucleus accumbens; however cocaine induced increases in dopamine levels are decreased
• reduction in increases in extracellular glutamate and dopamine levels following cocaine injection in animals previously given repeated doses of cocaine

nervous system
• basal extracellular glutamate levels are increased in the nucleus accumbens; however, increases in extracellular glutamate levels following cocaine injection in animals previously given repeated doses of cocaine are reduced
