• significant delay in intraretinal vascularization at P8 and P9 but is caught up to wild-type by P14
• however, superficial retinal vascular development is similar to wild-type
• treatment with lactate fails to accelerate inner retinal vascularization unlike in wild-type mice
• fewer ipsilateral projections from retinal ganglion cells are present in the dorsal lateral geniculate nucleus
• exposure to 75% O2 at P7 led to greater retinal vaso-obliteration compared to similarly treated wild-type controls
• significant numbers of apoptotic cells are detected at P11 in the inner nuclear layer
• decreased photopic and scotopic b-wave amplitudes at P30
• however, a-waves are hardly affected
• reduced b-wave amplitudes
• reduced b-wave amplitudes
