immune system
• mice challenged with sheep red blood cell (sRBC) immunization show increased CD4+ T cell numbers
• mice challenged with sRBC immunization show altered CD8 subtype ratio and increased IFN-gamma+ CD8+ T cells
• mice challenged with sRBC immunization show altered T cell function, with increased CD4+ T cell numbers, altered CD8 subtype ratio, and increased IFN-gamma+ CD8+ T cells
• however, sRBC challenged mice show no changes to Treg, T follicular (Tfol) cell, or germinal center B cell number or anti-sRBC IgG titers
• mice injected with human IL-1alpha, show increased serum levels of IL-1alpha, indicating reduced clearance of IL-1alpha from the circulation
• mice intravenously injected with IL-1alpha, show higher serum IL-6 levels after 4 hours but not after 2 hours, indicating a prolonged inflammatory response
• in a peritonitis model, mice show increased neutrophil recruitment into the peritoneum 6 hours after injection of IL-1alpha
• mice intravenously injected with IL-1alpha, show higher serum IL-6 levels indicating prolonged inflammatory response and increased serum levels of IL-1alpha, indicating reduced clearance of IL-1alpha from the circulation

homeostasis/metabolism
• mice injected with human IL-1alpha, show increased serum levels of IL-1alpha, indicating reduced clearance of IL-1alpha from the circulation
• mice intravenously injected with IL-1alpha, show higher serum IL-6 levels after 4 hours but not after 2 hours, indicating a prolonged inflammatory response
