• in a mixed bone marrow competitive chimera the number of Fo and MZ cells derived from null mice are reduced by 47% and 59%, respectively
• in culture the proliferation index is reduced to 1 compared to 3 in control cells
• 7 days after immunization with 4-hydroxy-3-nitrophenyl-acetyl conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin germinal center B cells are almost completely absent with a 10-fold reduction compared to similarly treated control mice
• light zone and dark zone germinal center B cells are reduced by 9-fold and 15-fold, respectively
