• HFD increases fat mass without altering lean mass in 15-week-old mice on 8 weeks HFD and increases the adiposity index (fat mass/lean mass)
• mice administered a high-fat diet (HFD) over 15-16 weeks from 7 weeks of age show increased body weight during the first 6 weeks of HFD (age 8-14 weeks) but less pronounced difference from week 6 onwards
• mice show a tendency to exhibit increased liver weight on a HFD at the end of the study
