• although homozygotes are not significantly sensitive to kainic acid induced seizures or pentylenetetrazole-induced seizures, they have a reduced threshold for electrically-induced seizures and spontaneous seizures
• From assessments at 6 to 8 weeks of age, females have a mean seizure threshold of 30.31 + 1.73 iRMS compared with 43.16 + 2.21 iRMS for C57BL/6NJ wildtype controls; males have a mean seizure threshold of 34.64 + 0.6 iRMS compared with 47.38 iRMS for C57BL/6NJ wildtype controls.
• There is a bypass of the minimal seizure endpoint.
• spontaneous seizures are observed in older mice

• Histology at 6 weeks of age shows fewer dendritic processes in the area between the CA pyramidal cells and the granule cells of the dentate gyrus, with a longer distance from the cell body to the first dendritic branch
