normal phenotype
• homozygotes are viable, fertile, and display normal growth curves and normal brain structure with no detectable pathological abnormalities in all major organs examined, except for a uterine inflammation, the significance of which is unknown
• importantly, homozygotes do not develop obesity up to 10 months of age
