• maximum value of the peak sodium current density is smaller than in wild-type cells
• peak sodium current densities are smaller than in wild-type cells
• the inactivation curve of the sodium channels is shifted in the negative direction compared to in wild-type cell
• however, mice exhibit no change in the activation function of sodium channels and sodium channel recovery from inactivation
