• at 3 months of age the diameter of the seminiferous tubules is shorter than in controls, the lumen of the tubules are absent, and the tubules consist of predominantly Sertoli cells with occasional spermatogonia
• tubulin staining of testes cross sections shows diffuse expression of microtubules with little evidence for organization into bundles, and there is some extracellular vacuolization but to a lesser degree than that of mice homozygous for the Gt(ROSABetageo)1Sor allele
• compound heterozygotes have a testes weight decreased to a similar degree as individual homozygotes for each allele, with the average weight less than 75mg compared with a heterozygous weight of 225 mg
