Reference: J:21617 Gunther T, et al., Open brain, a new mouse mutant with severe neural tube defects, shows altered gene expression patterns in the developing spinal cord. Development. 1994 Nov;120(11):3119-30
Assay type: RNA in situ
MGI Accession ID: MGI:1933415
Gene symbol: Msx2
Gene name: msh homeobox 2
Probe: pHOX8
Probe preparation: Antisense labelled with S35 RNA
Visualized with: Autoradiography
Results
Specimen 4C: embryonic day 12.5 (more )
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS20: spinal cord Present Regionally restricted 4C Weak expression througout the ependymal layer of the alar plate, and a strong signal in dorsalmost cells.
TS20: spinal cord ventricular layer Present Regionally restricted 4C Weak expression througout the ependymal layer of the alar plate, and a strong signal in dorsalmost cells.
TS20: spinal cord roof plate Strong 4C

Specimen 4D: embryonic day 12.5; Rab23opb/Rab23opb (more )
Note: The original opb carriers were of a mixed outbred NMRI background. The opb mutant embryos used in this study were derived subsequent to at least 6 crosses of opb mutant males to wild-type C57Bl/6 females.
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS20: spinal cord Present Regionally restricted 4D Weak expression in the spendymal layer of the alar plate, but the strong signal in dorsalmost cells (seen in wild-type) was absent, and there was a dorsalmost region where no expression was detected.
TS20: spinal cord ventricular layer Present Regionally restricted 4D Weak expression in the spendymal layer of the alar plate, but the strong signal in dorsalmost cells (seen in wild-type) was absent, and there was a dorsalmost region where no expression was detected.
