Reference: J:336866 Puelles L, et al., The Midbrain Preisthmus: A Poorly Known Effect of the Isthmic Organizer. Int J Mol Sci. 2023 Jun 5;24(11)
Assay type: RNA in situ
MGI Accession ID: MGI:7665230
Gene symbol: Cbln2
Gene name: cerebellin 2 precursor protein
Probe: Cbln2_riboprobe
Probe preparation: Antisense labelled with digoxigenin RNA
Visualized with: Alkaline phosphatase
Assay notes: The authors analyzed data from the Allen Mouse Brain and Developing Mouse Brain.
Results
Specimen 9g: embryonic day 18.5 (more )
Note: Sample was postfixed in 4% paraformaldehyde.
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS26: inferior colliculus Present Regionally restricted 9g Expression was detected in the inferior colliculus/brachium of the inferior colliculus complex.
TS26: midbrain Present Regionally restricted 9g The intercollicular domain appears more intensely labeled than the underlying inferior colliculus. The preisthmus was unlabeled.
TS26: superior colliculus Present Regionally restricted 9g Several layers of the superior colliculus were labeled.

Specimen 9h: embryonic day 18.5 (more )
Note: Sample was postfixed in 4% paraformaldehyde.
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS26: inferior colliculus Present Regionally restricted 9h Expression was detected in the inferior colliculus/brachium of the inferior colliculus complex.
TS26: midbrain Present Regionally restricted 9h The intercollicular domain appears more intensely labeled than the underlying inferior colliculus. The preisthmus was unlabeled.
TS26: superior colliculus Present Regionally restricted 9h Several layers of the superior colliculus were labeled.
TS26: periaqueductal grey Strong 9h

Specimen 12d: postnatal day 56 (more )
Note: Sample was postfixed in 4% paraformaldehyde.
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS28: inferior colliculus Present 12d
TS28: midbrain Present Regionally restricted 12d Label is detected in parts of the inferior colliculus, but leaves the intercalated preisthmic domain wholly negative. This lack of signal can be followed from the periaqueductal gray across the intermediate cuneiform area into the superficial derivative, the subbrachial nucleus.
