Glossary Term Autoradiography
Definition The detection of a unstable isotope that emits radiation by a photographic emulsion. In the case of in situ hybridization, this involves dipping microscope slides in liquid emulsion. In the case of Southern blots, Northern blots, or Western blots, the membrane is placed next to a sheet of X-ray film.
