Glossary Term In vitro
Definition In vitro: Literally, "in glass", meaning a reaction, process or experiment in a metaphorical test tube rather than in a living organism. In MGI this term also applies to cDNA clones originating from tissue culture cells rather than from tissues from whole organisms.
