Glossary Term Polyadenylation
Definition The process by which a series of adenosine (A) ribonucleotides is added to the 3' end of a spliced RNA to make a mature mRNA. This addition to the RNA is sometimes referred to as a poly-A tail, and commonly contains several hundred bases.
