Normal appearing kidney of Bcl2tm⁺/Bcl2⁺ and Bcl2tm^1Dlo/Bcl2⁺ mice (left and center, respectively) contrast with kidney from Bcl2^tm1Dlo/Bcl2^tm1Dlo mouse (right), which is small, pale and rough. Panel C and C show histological sections from kidneys of Bcl2tm⁺/Bcl2⁺ (B) and Bcl2^tm1Dlo/Bcl2^tm1Dlo (C) mice. Bcl2^tm1Dlo/ Bcl2^tm1Dlo kidneys have fewer glomeruli and proximal renal tubules are dilated, with hypertrophic epithelium.
