Caption 3.5 month old wild-type (left), Vdrtm1Mbd/Vdr+ (center) and Vdrtm1Mbd/Vdrtm1Mbd (right) mice. By 4 weeks of age the Vdrtm1Mbd/Vdrtm1Mbd mouse (right) begins to develop perioral and periorbital alopecia. Alopecia progresses to the entire body over the next 3 months. This progression is more rapid in females then males.
