Compared with the urniary bladder of the wild-type in (A),the bladder of the Chrm3^tm1Mmt/Chrm3^tm1Mmt mouse is distended with focal submucosal infiltrations of lymphocytes (arrows). The smooth muscle layer is thinner, especially in the region of upper right quadrant, due to distention. (Inset shows the normal epithelium with submucosal lymphocyte infiltration. Kidney comparison of the wild-type (C), and Chrm3^tm1Mmt/Chrm3^tm1Mmt male mouse indicates the renal calix of the Chrm3^tm1Mmt/Chrm3^tm1Mmt is distended.
