Estradiol and progesterone stimulated alveolar formation is reduced in the Ncoa3^tm1Jxu/Ncoa3^tm1Jxu mouse mammary gland. Whole mount of mammary gland was prepared from E2 + P pellet-treated adult wild type (A & C) and homozygous mutant female mice (B & D). Note the dramatic difference in the amount of aborization and the number of alveoli (*).
