A: H & E staining of E18.5 skin illustrates disorganized and immature development of the hair follicles and skin structure in Mapk8^tm1Flv/Mapk8^tm1Flv Mapk9^tm1Flv/Mapk9⁺ embryos, compared with control littermates. Immunohistochemical staining illustrates that keratin 6 is expressed more strongly in mutant P1 pups than in control littermates, whereas the expression of keratin 10 is comparable. B: Immunohistochemical analysis of E15.5 mutant embryos demonstrates decreased expression of PCNA and p63 in the epidermis, compared with control littermates.
