A & B: Paraffin sections of affected and normal eyes isolated from a Nat2^tm1Esim/Nat2⁺ male showing severe unilateral microphthalmia with epidermal hyperplasia. Note the complete absence of lens tissue. C-E: Cryosections taken from eyes showing cataracts. Adherence of the corneal endothelium and lens capsule is indicated in C and E by white arrows. White arrowheads in C and D indicate subcapsular plaques beneath the anterior lens capsule. All sections were cut at 10um and stained with hematoxylin and eosin. Co, cornea; hg, Harderian gland.
