Wild type (I-K) and mutant mouse lungs at E15.5, E18.5 and E19.5. Scale bar: 25um. Similar lung morphology is observed in wild type and mutant mouse lungs at E11.5 and E15.5. The phenotype is more severe after E18.5. Thereafter, the lungs exhibit narrower airspaces and thicker mesenchyme. Abbreviations: P, pleura; E, epithelium; A, alveolar space.
