Phenotype Image Detail
Image
Caption Gross phenotype of Slc4a4tm1Ges/Slc4a4tm1Ges mice. A: Compared with gender-matched wild type (NBC1+/+) littermates, 15 day old Slc4a4tm1Ges/Slc4a4tm1Ges mice exhibited growth retardation and emaciation. B: Body weights of mutant mice on day 13 were significantly reduced compared with wild type mcie (n = 12 +/+, 15 -/-; p < 3 x 10-7); mutants exhibited litte growth beyond that age, with fewer exceeding 7g. C: Survival curve for wild type and mutant mice. The precentage of surviving mice was plotted against age in days, with day 0 being the day of birth. Mutant mice exhibited a sharp decrease in mortality starting around 8 days of age with few mice surviving to 21 days of age (n = 153 for each genotype).
