Image
Caption The phenotype of S1P receptor null embryos. The following embryos were analyzed at E12.5: A, wild type (WT); B, S1pr1tm1Rlp/S1pr1tm1Rlp (S1P 1-/-); C, S1pr1tm1Rlp/S1pr1+ S1pr3tm1Rlp/S1pr3tm1Rlp (S1P 1+/- S1P 3-/-); D, S1pr1tm1Rlp/S1pr1tm1Rlp S1pr3tm1Rlp/S1pr3tm1Rlp (S1P 1-/- S1P 3-/-); E, S1pr2tm1Rlp/S1pr2tm1Rlp (SIP 1+/+ S1P 2-/-); F, S1pr1tm1Rlp/S1pr1tm1Rlp S1pr2tm1Rlp/S1pr2tm1Rlp (S1P 1-/- S1P 2-/-). In panel B the S1pr1tm1Rlp/S1pr1tm1Rlp embryo shows bleeding along the body and head (arrowheads) and underdeveloped limbs (arrow). The S1pr1tm1Rlp/S1pr1tm1Rlp S1pr3tm1Rlp/S1pr3tm1Rlp embryo in panel D shows a phenotype similar to that of the S1pr1tm1Rlp/S1pr1tm1Rlp embryo. In panel F, the S1pr1tm1Rlp/S1pr1tm1Rlp S1pr2tm1Rlp/S1pr2tm1Rlp embryo shows a more severe bleeding phenotype than does the single S1pr1tm1Rlp/S1pr1tm1Rlp embryo.
