Image
Caption Shown are electron micrographs of the midpiece of epididymal sperm of Vdac3tm1Wjc/Vdac3tm1Wjc (x13,000) mice (A,B,E,D and F). A appears to show a sperm in the process of losing the microtubule doublet (arrow), while F appears slightly earlier in the process, with the outer dense fiber still associated with the doublet. Sectioning through the principal piece of testicular sperm (C) demonstrates only a single abnormal axoneme (arrow).
