Caption | A and B: Histological analysis of sagittal sections of heart ventricle from E12.5 wild-type (A) and Ncoa6tm1.1Jkr/Ncoa6tm1.1Jkr (B) embryos. Trabeculation (t) is less extensive in mutant embryo than in the wild-type littermate. The compact layer (cl) of the mutant is significantly thinner. Epicardium (ep) is mutant is separated from underlying myocardium. In some regions of compact layer of the mutant, the adhesion of myocytes was disrupted and red blood cells penetrated through myocardium (arrowheads). C and D: PCNA staining for the proliferating cells in ventricles of E12.5 wild-type (C) and mutant (D) embryos. Fewer dark brown PCNA-positive cells are present in the compact layer of the mutant ventricle. | ||||
