Para-aortic splanchnopleural (P-Sp) explants from E9.5 wild-type (Fbw7^+/+, A) or Fbxw7^tm1Kin/Fbxw7^tm1Kin (Fbw7^-/-, B) embryos were cultured on OP9 stromal cells and then immunostained with anti-PECAM-1. P-Sp explants from wild-type embryos, but not those from mutant embryos, formed an extensive PECAM-1-positive vascular network. Abbreviations: vb, vascular bed; vn, vascular network. Scale bar: 1mm.
