Caption The fourth pairs of mammary glands from wild-type (A,C and E) or Ncoa6tm1Jkr/Ncoa6tm1Jkr Tg(MMTV-cre)FMam/? (B,D and F) mice on the 8th day of lactation were isolated and then whole-mounted or fixed for hematoxylin and eosin section. Whole-mount revealed that mutant glands (B) contained fewer and smaller lobuloalveoli than wild-type glands (A). C and D represent higher magnification of the lobuloalveolar structures in A and B, respectively. On hematoxylin and eosin section, mutant glands (F) showed abundant adipocytes surrounding alveoli, whereas wild-type glands (E) contained well developed alveoli with no recognizable adipocytes.
