Histology of the hearts from Calr^tm1Mlk/Calr⁺ and Calr^tm1Mlk/Calr^tm1Mlk embryos. A,B and C show histological analysis of the 12.5-. 14.5- and 18-day old heterozygous embryos, respectively. A', B' and C' show histology of the 12.5-, 14.5- and 18-day old homozygous embryos. Homozygous embryos show deep intertrabecular recesses and increased fenestration associated with the thinner ventricular wall. Sections were stained with hematoxylin and eosin.
