Electron micrographs of collagen fibrils in tendon from (A) a wild-type (+/+) mouse, and (B) a Thbs2^tm1Bst/Thbs2^tm1Bst (-/-) mouse. In B, larger fibrils are relatively more numerous than smaller fibrils and frequently display irregular contours. Small diameter fibrils in A represent tapered fibril ends and are much less frequent in B. Bar, 250 nm.
