Caption | A: Body weight gain of male mice fed a high fat diet for 23 weeks. Eight week old male mice (n=6 for each group) were fed a high fat diet (45% w/w) for 23 weeks. Body weights were recorded weekly. The increases in body weights were calculated based on the initial body weight at day 0 of high fat feeding and expressed as the percentage of increase. B Absolute fat mass of white adipose tissue (WAT) was significantly reduced in 31 week old male Pnrc2tm1Shch/Pnrc2tm1Shch (PNRC2-/-) mice compared with wild-type (WT) mice at the end of high fat feeding. Data represent the mean +/- S.D. (n = 6/genotype). Histology of WAT (C), liver (D) and brown adipose tissue (BAT, E) of mice fed high fat diet (*,p<0.05 and **,p<0.001). | ||||
