Scanning electron microscopy of wild-type and Kif3a^tm1Noh/Kif3a^tm1Noh embryos at 8.5 dpc. Wild-type embryo at 8.5 dpc displays normal body turning (A) and heart loop (D, D-type) while Kif3a^tm1Noh/Kif3a^tm1Noh embryos (B and C) did not make turning. Some homozygotes exhibited inversed heart looping (F, L-type). In addition, seemingly normal heart of homozygote (E) displays irregular cardiac surface as seen in F. Bars: (A-C) 500 um; (D-F) 100 um.
