Caption | Histological analyses of testis, epididymides, and testicular sperm. Cross-sections of Rsph1tm1Htan/Rsph1+ (+/-, A and B) or Rsph1tm1Htan/Rsph1tm1Htan (-/-, C-F) testis are shown. B and D-F show testicular tubules under high magnification. Arrows and an asterisk indicate irregularly arranged spermatocytes and round spermatids, respectively. Cross-sections of heterozygous (G and I) or homozygous (H and J) epididymides are shown. G and H show caput epididymides and I and J show cauda epididymides. Sperm was not found in homozygous mutant epididymides (H and J). Heterozygous (K and L) and homozygous mutant (M-P) testicular sperm were observed. The heads of the homozygous mutant sperm have abnormal features (O and P). Bar = 50 um. | ||||
