Electron microscopy of seminiferous tubules. Testes of Hsf1^tm1Miv/Hsf1^tm1Miv Hsf2^tm1Miv/Hsf2^tm1Miv (hsf1^-/- hsf2^-/-) or wild-type (+/+) adult mice (12-week old) wree fixed, sectioned, and subjected to electron microscopic analysis. Arrows in the micrograph indicate morphological normal Sertoli cells (S), spermatogonia (Sg), primary spermatocytes (Sp), preleptotene (Pl), pachytene (P), spermatid (St), AP (apoptotic), and basal lamina (Bl) structure in wild-type mice.
